TesLEr ("the app") is an open-source viewer for Tesla Sentry Mode and Dashcam clips, available as a desktop application and a mobile application. This policy explains what data the app accesses and, more importantly, what it does not collect.

Summary

TesLEr does not collect, store, transmit or sell any personal data. It has no user accounts, no analytics and no advertising. All it does is read video and metadata files that you explicitly select from a USB drive or your device's storage, so you can view and manage them locally.

Data the app accesses

To display your Sentry Mode clips, the app reads, directly from the storage you choose (a USB drive on desktop, or a folder you pick on mobile):

• Video clip files (.mp4) recorded by your Tesla's cameras.
• The accompanying event.json metadata (timestamp, city, estimated coordinates, and trigger reason) generated by your Tesla.

This data never leaves your device. It is not uploaded, copied to any server, or shared with the developer or any third party. The app does not require and does not create any account.

Permissions

• Storage access — used only to let you pick a folder or drive and read/delete the clip files it contains, at your request.
• No location, camera, microphone, contacts or other sensitive permissions are requested or used by the app itself.

Network requests

• The desktop app and this website query GitHub's public API to display the latest available app version. This is a read-only request; no personal data is sent.
• No analytics, tracking or advertising SDKs are included in the app.

Data sharing

TesLEr does not share, sell or transmit any data to third parties, because it does not collect any in the first place.

Data retention & deletion

Your Sentry Mode clips remain solely on your own device or USB drive. Using the app's delete feature permanently removes the selected clip from that storage. The app keeps no separate copy anywhere.

Children's privacy

The app is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, regardless of age, since it collects no personal data at all.

Open source

TesLEr is free and open-source. Its full source code is publicly available for review on GitHub.
